The Wrath of the Reawakened Saxon

It was not to be their lot
It revived in them very late
Their foes never forgot
When the Saxon relearned to hate

At first they thought to pray
Their betters told them to wait
They tried every other way
Before the Saxon relearned to hate

Their voices were so soft and slurred
No pride in a race once great
Then something inside them stirred
And the Saxon relearned to hate

It was not discussed in the pew
It was suppressed by the state
Yet inside, all men knew
When the Saxon relearned to hate

It was not quickly sired
It will not subside fast
Until the last shot’s been fired
When history books shall state
When the Saxon relearned to hate

*original poem.
