Importing Real Rape Culture

According to Breitbart.

A young, female ‘No Borders’ activist working in a migrant camp on the France-Italy border remained silent about her gang rape by Sudanese migrants for over a month because “the others asked me to keep quiet.”

Colleagues are alleged to have said that reporting the crime would set back their struggle for a borderless world.

A gang of African migrants allegedly raped her there, and her cries for help are said to have gone unheard because of the music. La Stampa reports that the woman, around 30 years of age, would have reported the horrific crime were if not for her fellow left-wing activists, who convinced her that if the truth got out it could damage their utopian dream of a world without borders.

In his own assessment of the situation, Davis Aurini at Stares at the World put it well: “Judge these people by their actions, not their words.”

It is the only way to understand them without losing your mind trying to rationalize how leftists can push a false rape culture narrative while cheering for the importation of people who, at the very least, come from cultures where women do not have the same rights as they do here. You’d think they would at least be interested in making sure they are educated on this. But it’s not even raised.

Do they really think millions of Third World migrants are going to suddenly adopt Western culture, traditions, and political ideas such as freedom of speech/press, the separation of the State and Church, and property rights? Do they really think that migrants who come from countries where girls are still forcibly circumcised are going to be converted into urbane gentlemen when they come across their first strong, independent career-minded woman? I’m not even arguing about intent or motive; I’m talking about integration. Do we want people to adopt our culture, or should we adopt theirs? To answer the question you have to examine both cultures and decide.

The thing is, multicultural is a fraud, but nevertheless different ethnicities can exist peaceably; they just have to conform or adopt the same culture.

Culture is everything. I would argue that culture is a stronger bond than politics, race, nationality, even possibly religion. Culture unites effectively as it divides.

But if neither immigrants nor natives adopts the other’s culture, then you have the Balkans, and I think most of you here know how well that has gone on in the last five centuries.

Think of how inane this is. A woman is gang-raped, then told not to report by other women because it might hurt an even greater agenda.

Haven’t we heard this narrative before?………

Oh, yes; except it was completely false. But the story took place at a university fraternity and the rapists were WASPS, so the narrative fit the agenda. Yet even after the story was proven to be totally false, leftists continued to insist we believe the mentally ill woman in the story, and the fraternities were told to adopt new policies in response to something that never happened.

Yet, when this happens in real life, they literally are the ones responsible for enabling it.

This is why I’m reluctant to feel sorry for people who are victims of their own ideology. It’s why my interests are in preserving my rights and my liberties, not that of others; for all I know, they are actively undermining my efforts, and I will not waste my life fighting to break someone free of chains who not only lack the decency to help me but insist on keeping the chains intact.

Something open border libertarians should keep in mind; it’s not just about freedom of movement. Immigrants and migrants and refugees don’t just travel or work; they import ideas, beliefs, values, prejudices, biases. They then use those to determine how they vote. I’m not trying to justify hostility, but point out that we shouldn’t ignore externalities or the broader perspective. If we’re truly interested in advancing the libertarian cause, then we should be slightly curious or interested as to the beliefs of the people who enter our communities.

Just a thought: I had a dad who came from Guatemala at the age of 37, and a mom who was Kansas raised. They met on a missions trip, and were married shortly thereafter. And I was the first hand witness to what happens when two cultures try to mix. It doesn’t work. I’ve know many other mixed-culture marriages, and they all struggle mightily or outright fail. I think mixed race marriages are fine, but I have been strongly against mixed-culture marriages for decades now. So if it can’t work in a private home, I really don’t see it working on a larger scale, either. I agree completely with your post.

This is an excellent point, but unfortunately there’s so much emotional baggage from prior policies preventing interracial relationships (which were almost always also separated culturally) that anything less than outright endorsement of inter-cultural marriage is seen as bigoted and prejudiced. It all stems from an inability to differentiate between culture and race, which are both related but not mutually inclusive.
