Because of all the good stuff he’s done, like supporting unconstitutional stop-and-frisk tactics and flip-flopping on his stance for term limits, in addition to spending $50 million on gun control efforts.
According to the New York Times:
But if he senses that he may not have as much time left as he would like, he has little doubt about what would await him at a Judgment Day. Pointing to his work on gun safety, obesity and smoking cessation, he said with a grin: “I am telling you if there is a God, when I get to heaven I’m not stopping to be interviewed. I am heading straight in. I have earned my place in heaven. It’s not even close.”
I’m not sure what’s worse, that he’s a heretic or an idiot. There’s nothing worse than an idiotic heretic.
Sadly, I don’t think it’s actually stupidity. It’s simply pure conceit springing from the mind of a man who is drunk on power and control. A fool, if you will.
It’s funny how liberals and progressives loved to make fun of George W. Bush for claiming God was guiding him – a claim I now find equally as ridiculous. But they remain silent when one of their own makes an unbelievably narcissistic comment that would disqualify him from paradise in just about any religion that required an iota of humility.
As the Good Book says, pride goes before a fall. I’d watch my step, if I were him.
